Widow’s Beach (Playa de la viuda)

One of the most popular in Punta del Diablo, it offers a wide range of water activities, such as surfing, paddleboarding and kayaking. Despite being a small beach, Playa de la Viuda is very popular with tourists and locals due to its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere.

So… why is it called that?

We didn’t find enough information. Apparently its name is related to a house that currently exists and that in the 50s was inhabited by a widowed Argentine woman with her daughters. We immediately wondered how desolate the beach must have been back then. The truth is that it is a very suggestive name.

Big beach (Playa Grande)

It is one of the best-known beaches in Punta del Diablo and stands out for having an extensive strip of sand, which provides space for visitors to relax, walk or practice sports on the beach. It is appreciated by surfing lovers, as it often has waves suitable for practicing this sport.

Since Playa Grande faces west, it offers spectacular sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean, making it a popular place to admire the sunset.
